Simply Piano is a subscription app developed by Simply (formerly JoyTunes) that teaches piano through song-first, gamified lessons on iOS and Android. Students choose a song they actually want to learn, then the app builds the foundational skills around getting them there — notes, fingering, both hands, sight-reading — using real-time audio feedback as they play. There’s no computer version; it’s designed around mobile and tablet, with the device propped next to a keyboard or piano.
The app covers two learning tracks — Soloist and Chords — which can be completed simultaneously or separately. Short daily practice features (ear training, note flashcards, sight-reading drills) make it easy to keep momentum on busy school days without committing to a full lesson. No prior music background is needed for the parent. The app handles all instruction and feedback independently.
The Family Plan covers up to five profiles and also unlocks Simply Guitar, Simply Sing, and Simply Draw under one subscription — making it a strong value for households where more than one person wants to explore music or creative skills.
Kids pick the song they want to play — motivation built in from day one.
Real-time audio feedback means no parent involvement required — kids learn independently at their own pace.
One subscription covers up to five learners and unlocks Simply Guitar, Simply Sing, and Simply Draw.
