Latina Christiana was written by Cheryl Lowe, who founded Memoria Press in 1994 specifically to publish it. It’s designed as a true beginner’s Latin course — the teacher’s manual is built for parents who’ve never studied Latin themselves, with clear, step-by-step lesson presentations rather than assuming any prior background.
The course runs 25 lessons plus 5 review lessons, each covering a grammar form and 10 vocabulary words with their English derivatives and Latin sayings. An optional history component ties in reading from Famous Men of Rome, though that book itself is sold separately. After completing Latina Christiana, students are expected to move directly into Memoria Press’s First Form Latin series.
