Blossom & Root was created in 2015 by Kristina Garner, a homeschool parent and early childhood educator who drew from both Charlotte Mason and Waldorf philosophies to build a curriculum that centers on nature, living books, and creativity. A typical day includes a read-aloud, a nature or science activity, art or poetry, and language arts practice — relational and unhurried rather than worksheet-heavy.
Each level is delivered as an affordable PDF download, with families sourcing the required books themselves through libraries or retailers. The curriculum is explicitly and thoroughly secular — one of the most strongly secular options in the Charlotte Mason-inspired space — making it a particularly strong fit for secular families who’ve found that most Charlotte Mason programs come with a Christian framework.
